Hi all, first crash and replaced Ball Control Arm (EK1-0284) and installed 2 new balanced blades. The tracking seem fine but my Heli is jumpy and not stable, any ideas??. I was thinking of the feathering shaft but if that was damaged would my blade tracking look as good as it does.

With ANY crash, always remove the spindle and take a look. Even slightly bent will cause vibration, or poor stability.

My first guess is the feathering shaft/spindle. Take it out and have a look.

Next, take a look at the main shaft. Also the flybar.

Thanks so much, that was it, the feathering shaft was really bent, replaced and all is good, I am grateful I have many spare parts. check out Esky parts thread http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7297595/tm.htm post 14, I have 1 or 2 of just about every spare part because no LHS have them

In a pinch, you can straighten a feathering shaft as well. I straightened one about 4 times before I replaced it when I was learning to fly.. ( well, I am still learning to fly.. I just don't crash as often!)

I have found that with any decent crash, the feathering shaft will almost always be bent. So I just automatically change mine and don't mess around as cheap as they are.

Well my problem is my HBK2 just doesn't feel the same, I spent a lot of time adjusting the tracking with the link rods and now the blades seem level with each other when spinning, can't put my finger on it but not the same since the crash

How tight do you make the nuts on the Feathering Shaft ? I noticed when I tightened them all the way my grips were snug so I backed off a little,maybe to much whats the correct way??

each end of the nuts should give you smooth feeling, at least that's how I measured it.

Not sure I know what you mean, I thought if they stopped when the thread ended that the blade grips wouldn't have play, so I wouldn't have to back the nut of to loosen the grip, but how much??.
PS I bought the shafts from an online vedor with Esky part number

the only important part is that both sides should be equal.

holy crap [X(], I just realized I've been doing alot of hovering with my Belt CP and never checked to make sure my flybar was even, I just put it together after my crash and forgot all about it, gonna check it right now
