question about breaking in zen
i bought my first gas cat bj55 from proboat about a 2 week ago. Just took it out this past saturday and i've been having problems with keeping the zen running. It starts fine, run for about 6minutes and then dies. Almost lost it out on lake michigan because of this but thank god there was wind blowing toward shore which push it in. Is this the normal process of breaking in the zen? The gas i put in is regular 87 with a 25:1 mix of breaking in oil from bonzisports.

RE: question about breaking in zen
25.1 isnt enough oil you need 8oz per gallon or 16.1 mix, just run the zen rich and vary throttle for a few tanks and only give full throttle for short bursts and make sure you let the motor totally cool down between tanks,in fact my first run consisted of 5 min run stop cool then 10 mins and so on till all the first tank had gone.

RE: question about breaking in zen
Is'nt breaking oil suppose to be a different mixture? Usually 5 oz of that breaking oil does a gallon I think..unless I'm misunderstanding the "special breaking oil"
