Default question about a servo.

Ok you guys, here's my question. I putting together my radio epuipment for my boat and i have a traxxas 2019 radio and a 2018 servo im going to use for steering. I also have a hitec hs-55 i was thinking of using for the throttle. Would i be able to get away with it, or do i need to invest in a standard servo?

Well, it's a 48" "woody". It's going to have a homelite in it, and the rudder is going to offset to the right. Sorry i don't have pics, it's not done yet.

Will, the HS 55 is only 15 to 18 in. oz. torque, and while the throttle doesn't need much, I think that's too weak. I use throttle servos around 40 to 50 in. oz.

thanks, i was thinking about getting a traxxas 2055 servo off of ebay for steering then using the 2018 for the throttle. Can i use akaline for power? I've seen it done but just wondered.

I have no idea what a Traxxas 2055 servo is but I'm hoping that it has at least 100 oz.in. of torque.
Secondly, I wouldn't trust an AM radio system in a gas boat.
Yes, you can use alkaline batteries but I wouldn't. That's me though. I'm more into 5-cell Ni-cad or better packs.
