Anyone know how to glue ABS when the seam of the airplane splits down the center. I have this problem now. Is there a method and a cretain type of glue - CA or Epoxy and some kind of reinforcment?

Plastic model airplane cement works.

Thin C/A works on ABS , back up the back side with glass cloth.

I have some glue for small plastic models - but is that strong enough to hold the seam. It split in the center where there's very little surface area for the glue to grab.

PVC cement and a strip of light weight fiberglass...

Works on all those cheepy plastic cowels that comes with kits...

PVC cement works very well with the PBS plastic. Use the scrap pieces for reinforcement and fiberglass works well.

Is the PVC the stuff used for gluing plastic water pipe together. I was going over to the Home Depot tomorrow anyway. Good Idea!! That glue sounds like it would be a good choice. Comes with a ball type applicator that makes gluing easy.

Scuff up the plastic before gluing....

Thin CA but be very careful you don't overdue it. It is not forgiven if you use too much. If you overspill it it may cause white stains on the plastic that is impossible to remove.

Don't over do the PVC cement either. It can melt down the whole repair. I nearly killed a set of thin ABS wheel pants by flooding the seam with lots of ABS cement. A little is better than a lot.

The PVC glue worked excellent. Only $1 and I can fly this plane again. I want to thrash it till I learn so I don't do in my nice planes. Anyone know of some good techniques for slowing down the airplane when landing. This plane seems to keep floating - once it's up there it doesn't want to come down.

If ya have a landing function on you're radio set up "air brake"
alerons go up a touch and elevator goes down a touch...

Had to do this on a Something Extra...worked fine...

I could probably get that on my Futaba PCM radio that I use for my heli. The radio I am using for the airplane only has duel rates. So the question is can I use the Heli Futaba Computer radio transmitter with the basic futaba flight pack in the airplane just buy getting one same frequency crystal. How about a different manuufacterer's flight pack like airtronics for my other plane. It's probably easier to change the crystal in the transmitter vs the reciever.

The ABC body repair problem was solved with PVC glue for $1, no
reinforcement needed, glued the airplane back together like new, so this forum went into solving some problems the plane had so I wouldn't need to glue it back together again. This is a free country
