My latest project is putting a rectangular 3D style wing (18" x 82") on my 84" 50cc Extra 300 Special. It's a direct replacement for the original tapered wing (same hole spacing for the GF wing tube and anti-rotation dowels) but it's about 13% more sq inches and actually will weigh a littlle less as it's built up balsa/lite ply and the original is sheeted foam. All up weight should be just a hair over 16 lbs,

I expect it to fly similar to a Bling 3D but, hopefully without the wing coming apart.

Has any body else done anything like this before? I would like to hear of your experience. Also, I am looking for CG recommendations.

Its been done before. A guy here took Hangar 9's 540 Edge, the blue and yellow 1.20 size I think, and used the wing off of an OMP 80" Edge. I think Mike sold him a wing kit. There is a thread on it here somewhere. Give AFSalmon a PM and he might remember the name of the thread.
