Ive been wanting to build a cracker. What is the diffilcultly level for the zippkits? Ive worked with wood before but im no pro. What kind of time does it take to build and are any special tools needed? Looks like alot of fun for sure!

They go together so fast it'll scare you. Just have a LOT of clamps ready.
I had one of the prototypes but messed it up. A friend of mine is bucks down and wanted a gas boat. If anyone could fix it, he can so I gave it to him.
A Neurotoxin might be a bit much for a C-box.
For you newbies to C-boxes, note his left trim tab, it's bent up to keep it from digging in in the turns and flipping the boat.

Thanks for the comments.

Build time was one week in the evenings to fully built and another week of finishing resin and paint (apply finishing resin, let stand overnight, apply primer, wait few hours, apply base coat, let stand overnight, ect.)

The pilots are from Insane Boats. Pretty trick, arent they?

Neurotoxin is not to much motor for a cracker box trust me- and a p270 prop is not enough for it- i have done a ton of mods to my 270 and its running its best at 42.2mph prop is S/B/P rounded tips-some tounge removed-thinned-little tip cup-etc very consistant runner but not a speed prop..

Was also running a 2" band with a t-mod muffler-killed a day at the races for me as it put the DB at 94-96 (92 is legal limit) now running a zero band and a cooper mushroom muffler... still not 100% tuned in with that set-up but close

P.S. Tabs I used are bonzi tossed them both in the break for non-trips right and left, works like a charm!

Toyota, are your non trips set in the same position as the ones in the pic? Reason Im asking look at my picture of the transom w/ hardware. notice how my non-trip is mounted about a half-inch inwards from the edge... Someone told me that if I did not have the curled up side even w/ the side of the boat, it wouldnt work. I think it will work fine the way I have it.

you should not have any problems with your tabs. as for set the same in the picture, yep thats where they are runnin at little positive angle to them with the adjustment but same-I have only tripped 1 time turning the hull but it wasnt due to the tab placement- was due to turning it to tight testing it out in rough water, recovered and didnt go over from it

Your boat looks good and you will like running the cracker box they are interesting and fun to drive-

Which is the best propeller to go fast for a crackerbox from Zippkitts? I have a Mid. Mod. Zenoah 26 in my boat.

Im running a 6516 3 blade which is an all around good cracker prop. I tested yesterday and got 47mph with tweaking needed. Pics to come.

Heres the running video and pics from today.

Im impressed at how well it runs, ride attitude is good, speed was GPS'ed at 50.2mph.

We has 20-30mph winds at the lake and I had 2 blow-overs. The water was pretty choppy and it handled it well.
