Im new to RC cars
I was wondering if this is a good reliable RC car
http://www.trendtimes.com/subaru-nit...hannelid=FROOG
i have experience with small engines because i have a GO-PED are they any harder to work with and have had many 100$ electric cars
how many CC dose this one have
is it good off road
whats "off-road" for a RC car
what fuel dose it use, gas, alcohol,ECT.
what other RC car would you recommend under 300$
is this a good site, if not link me
how fast is it (i know it says 45) but realistically
has any one had one
where is it made, china[:'(]
would you recommend it

I am not totally sure about that particular car but I do know CEN is a very good quality company so I think you should be able to buy with confidence.

With nitro it is usually correct about what speeds it goes. But for electric, it is not that accurate cause it depends on the battery. It uses "nitro 20% fuel that is $20 a gallon. I would look at the firestorm RTR nitro which is $250 and with fuel, glow plugs, misc items it will get to about $300.

If you want serious off road, look in to a truck!Alot more suspension,i love the rally cars, but from my experiance with them, they are limited, fun though!Have you thought about electric?(Rustler VXL is awesome)They are faster(brushless),much easier to maintain, not so noisy or messy,I personally will never go back to nitro, not downing nitro, but just not for me anymore!I can run my electrics @ 11:00p.m!But if you are stuck on the rally-nitros i think you will be pleased with that car! Remember this is just ones opinion, have fun!

RE: Im new to RC cars
I have to second the Electric Offroaders...
E-maxx,E-Savage and, Stampede and Rustlers may be battery powered but they do offer great offroading experience...
You have to look at the Long term..
Running costs of a Nitro are ongoing.
Electrics , once you have a few Decent batts and a Decent Charger, the only costs you have from then on are what ever you break !
If you can live without the noise, the Smell and the Out of the Box acceleration, look at the Electric offroaders as they are not that far behind the Nitro's...
In saying that though
Once you have driven a HPI Baja..... its hard not to hand the Controller back !!!!

RE: Im new to RC cars
Seems like this thread is headed for electric (which is a great option), but a gallon of nitro will alst a month if you run a tank or so of gas (10min) a day... Plenty of runtime for $25/gal.

Nitro & Firestorm RTR can be purchased at your LHS (Local Hobby Shop) or [link=http://www.towerhobbies.com/]Tower Hobbies[/link]

Nitro here is $33 a gallon. So most of u have it pretty cheap. But it last for a long time espcially if oyu dont run your cars that much. Like if you have a job and go to school, or just work a lot of hours. Or if you have other hobbies. Then you wont spend all your time doing this burning fuel...

RE: Im new to RC cars
the gearing with any motor electric or nitro will dictate how fast the top speed is. i got 2 nitro powered trucks a 1/10 himoto and 1/8 himoto mega p both have .18 engines and my tank run times are around 10-14 minutes per tank, both will do about 30-40 mph. i run them a fair bit and i'm on my 2nd gallon of fuel in 4 months. if electric is what you like then go for it, if nitro is your thing go for that. it's all personal preference, i like my nitro engines. it's the same with manufacturers get what you like and who cares what the next guy likes its for you not them.

1:5 & 1:6 scales run on normal gas - probably the same sized engine in your GO-PED (I knew someone that had one )

RCar977 this is a scam website. I will report you to moderator. http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/...off0096295.htm http://www.complaints.com/2006/janua...Gifts_1225.htm
"Trend Time Toys http://trendtimes.com/ advertises all over the Internet for
remote control toys. Unfortunately I did not check them out, I relied on
the good name of Yahoo Stores and Google. Had I checked I would have seen
the numerous complaints against this company for what can only be viewed
as fraud. "

There is no need to report the post. Here is another entry from [link=http://www.manta.com/]Manta[/link]:

More information sources certainly can't hurt.

Lol, I was about to purchase a goped a while back. Then I came to my senses.

Anyway order your RC car from a credible source, or even better your local hobby shop. But it's good to ask questions here first so we can steer you in the right direction. Good to know RCU steered you away from ordering off the first website that popped up in your search engine.
