ORIGINAL: jaketrouble
hey guys,, should have my very first rx truck tomorrow. i got the revo 3.3 after 9 month, 7 heli's and a TON of replacement parts.. man i sure wish i would have tried out these instead of those evil helicopters.. i had two very nice black hawk 450's electric. and then had i honey bee fp an honey bee king 2 and my lama 4 and a walker 5#5 plus a couple 2 channel helis. which were my first two.
i can fly the coaxil's pretty good but just can not even hover the 300,400 and 450 size single rotor axe's. i tired reallfight sim,, the honey bee fp for the practice heli,, after crashen my bh's over and over the cost of parts was killing me. so i used the fp for trainers. but the sim or the fp helped. i even met a good guy who has an online heli and parts store. he runs it out of his house but does pretty well. he stared out with 1 or 2 orders to 40-50 a day. he is a very cool guy. he lives in maryland and my self VA.. WASH DC is right in betweem . mike invited me to his house/store once. now it has been 8 visits. he loves to help and his prices and shipping cost is great. i have been looking at trucks think i am going to love them. mspeed from this site who also lives close to me brought donw his revo3.3 and his jato. man thosethings are so much bigger in real life. he ran one for me with a half gone engine and that jato was super fast anyway.. so i sold all my helis except the coax's so far and used that money for my revo.

my friend hooked his video camera up to the roll bar on his revo, and after a few seconds of running, the vibration from the engine became too much and the camera shut itself off for safety.

That is awesome. I was running late last night and was thinking it would be cool to put lights on. Not only to keep track of where it is, but also it easier to tell which way you are facing after spinning.
Was that a kit of did you rig it up yourself?

FPV FTW! This guy (crash9) has the best setup I've seen - the pan and tilt camera mounted on his RC sends a RF signal to a receiver connected to a video monitor. He drives the car by looking at the monitor from inside his garage. The night video he took with his GPS with On Screen Display is amazing. The amount of data being displayed makes it look like a HUD on an F-16. He has another video where he mounted a small mirror in front of his camera so he can see behind when he's in backing up. The camera pans slightly toward whichever direction he is steering. Awesome setup.

If you're also into flying there's some really good FPV flying videos on Youtube.

we run led light setups at the track after dark, it's alot of fun, there 6 led kits, 2 red in rear, 2 white in front and 2 in blue, green or amber also in front.
you can actuly see where your going, it's alot of fun.
