front end not spinning...
hey everyone, i am currently rebuilding my savage and everything is working right except for the fact that the front wheels won't budge, and im sure it's not the diff because i just rebuild it, can anyone help me out here? appreciate it

Do you have all the hex nuts and hex pins in correctly. Bearings installed. Do the wheels want to turn but not the diff or are teh wheels locked tight?

i might have, but dosen't the big gear only allow it to go in one way? the one on the outside (forget the name)

The ring gear. The pinion is the smaller one. It will fit both ways but once you tighten everything down it will bind up. Is it a regular savage or savage X

I think if you pull the bottom plate off you can see if its wrong or not. Looking at the bottom the ring gear should be on the side that the pipe is on. The Passenger side of the truck.

ok...i just took the bottom plate off and the ring gear is on the right side, but the diff itself only rotates about half an inch in the bulkhead, like its jammed up

Did you get the screws mixed up and run a long one into the differential? I am guilty of doing that once. Or was that on a Tower Terror? I am getting old I guess.... BB
