RE: DIY pipe ?
I made my own from some baseball bats. Im not an expert but heres what i've learned... Also I attached some pics of some instructions I found on the net, and some pics of mine. Most pipes are somewhere around 12" long overall and about 2" in diameter at the biggest point. In order to get this you need two bats that taper fairly quickly, so it may be a little harder to find then you think. If the bat closest to the engine is a little longer its not to critical, just make your header shorter, but you want a fast taper on the other section if possible. Most pipes have 7/8 ID inlet and a 0.5" ID stinger. The overall length of the pipe/header is very important. Its normally measured from the exhaust port to the weld of the pipe. I think somewhere around 12" is usually good for this too. But normally you start longer and work your way shorter until you find the best setting. Shorter length will produce more power and do so a higher rpm, but if you go too short your engine wont even be able to reach the rpm where the pipe starts to work.
I didnt have anything to make a bend in my header, so I searched from some pre-bent tubing and ended up using a leg off an old cheap wooden chair. I've been doing alot of thinking about a coupler and havent decided what to use yet. I tried a piece of silicone tubing and it melted during testing. Good luck with it.

In the bottle is just a 7/8 coper tube with a bunch of 1/4 inch holes drilled in it and in the bottle top is two plates with 5 316 holes cut in it.
