Default can't get engine to stay primed on revo

i was working on a revo today, and for some reason it is very hard to prime. i tried plugging the exhaust while turning the engine over, but that didn't work. i also tried blowing into the pressure line (works all the time), but that didn't work either. anybody know what could be causing this? i'll be working on it again tomorrow. oh yeah, also it's a revo 3.3 if that matters, stock motor.

Sounds like you have a leak in the fuel tank or on one of your lines. Just my guess.

So I guess it didn't start? Did you check if the plug was good?

maybe the HSN is nearly close or very lean.

Sounds to me like there is probably a blockage somewhere in the carb or the needles. Try unscrewing the high speed needle and blowing it out with a compressor to get any dirt and or possible grime out of it; also try taking the carb completely off the engine, then taking the needles and other components off of the carb and throughly cleaning it out with some denatured alcohol, then blasting it out

I have run into that problem before. It is probably a blockage in your carb. I take the line off the carb and attach my fuel bottle to it and then squeeze pretty hard till it unclogs. You will have to attach a line to your fuel bottle with zip ties to do this but has worked for me. You could try spraying WD-40 into the carb fuel inlet and see if that helps too. I wouldnt advice forcing alot of pressure into the tank or it could blow a seal.

i figured it was something blocking in the carb. when i go back into the hobby shop in the morning i'm going to check the carb, didn't have time to really get into today. it starts though, i put a little fuel in through the carb and it started. thanks for the help guys. the revo im working on is pretty nice, and is really good shape. the guy who sold it to the shop also had a parts truck with it, but most of the good stuff is gone from it (fuel tank, etc.).

before you go removing the carb
check the fuel tank seal

that o-ring not sealing is the most common
cause of your symptoms

then carb blockage

but, if you take care
and are usually clean
with fueling practices
carb blockage is less likely
that the o-ring seal

Don't forget about the exhaust coupler. I can't count how many times I've gotten holes in them >_<

I had a problem today with a pinhole in my fuel line. I have no idea how that could have happened. It caused the same problem.
