Default T-maxx 2.5 Running Problems

My engine will fire up and run, but, Sometimes it will feel good and strong, then it will run laggy. Its the Stock 2.5.
For example:
I fire it up, First 30 seconds of run time will be good and strong like its supposed to be...then it will act like its lagging. But, what gets me, during the same run time, it will jump back and forth between the 2.
It also has a problem Idling, it will just stall out sometimes...about 50% of the time I'm just sitting still with it, it dies.

I am thinking its an Air Leak, But would like to find out if it could be anything else from More experianced RCers.

Possibly dirt/obstruction in the carb/fuel system (would explain intermittent fuel supply/fuel starvation).

An air leak would be more consistent?

you might have the same problem i had. You should turn the high speed needle all the way back and set it to factory specs(should be in the manual). From there on just tune it a little more untill you like it.

I would pull the HSN out and check for dirt, debrie, etc. R u running an in-line fuel filter? If not, u should. It helps this problem alot

Anyone have the factory Specs for the HSN? Bought this used, rebuilt the engine and dont have a Manual.

Thanks everyone for their Input, I'll give it a try Sunay and see how it works

An inconsistency like that means the motor is lacking vital needs such as fuel or air so it's more than likely going to be an air leak and/or fuel obstruction of some sort. Could be the bearings are worn out, could be a pinhole in the fuel line or could be dust/debris as the others have mentioned. You'll have to check for these things, it's a pain in the butt.

Also, any time I rebuild a motor I always rebuild the carb.

Good luck. [sm=thumbup.gif]
