Post pics of your busted/bent cooling heads
So, I went out with the savage yesterday, only was forced to run it on the street so the family from out of town could see it. And of COURSE, they insisted that I jump it. So, as you can expect, I dented up my cooling head REAL good.. and I'm honestly a bit down about it. I'm going to post pics when I get home, but just wanted to see what others have done. All I ever see on here are pics of nice clean pristine trucks and whatnot.. but MY cooling head looks like it has been through WWII!

Usually the Zip-tie method will protect the head pretty well. Were you running with the body off? I also cringe when my cooling head contacts the pavement[:@] Especially when I flip going WOT and it just scrapes the ground more than 20 ft[:-] Ah well, new heads are pretty cheap, on my next engine I will OD on zip ties

Yeah well, I broke my own rule and ran with it off yesterday [&:]. I don't think the zip-tie method would have helped much.. some fins are flat out bent lol.

That is the same head, I had a servo fail and it ran wide open into a curb, it just sheared off the top of the head, bent four dogbones and the belly pan on my EK4. That is a 70 sized head.

I have a feeling it might be the shadows playing tricks on the eye since I see it also (Im pretty sure its straight) but I'll take a closer look at it tomorrow and let you guys know.
I bow my head in shame when I say that I took that pic last summer, wanted to take her apart for cleaning before the next time I ran her but still haven't done it since [&o]. Maybe I'll take a few pics of the shock to compare.

The video was great, when my dog heard you yell, he ran to the window and started barking. That looked like it would do it. BB

When I think of the cooling head damage I think of one person.. FISH KILLA.. He hasn't been on in a while but he messed his up pretty good. If anybody remembers what he put his 3.3 through then you'll remember the carnage his cooling head got.[>:]

RE: Post pics of your busted/bent cooling heads
Lol I kno one guy on the traxxas forum who ran under a car and it looked like a bomb had exploded next to his cooling head, all the fins were just pushed away. and he broke alot of other stuff too.
