Hi, I'm looking to get into on road electric racing but I realy don't know where to start. I am a pretty brand loyal guy, so Im looking into the losi touring car. The track I will be running on looks like this, however it will also run on carpet and black top on occasion. So, I will be running Spectrum DX-2 transmitter, but I need the following:
A esc (Brushless or Brushed? Preferably a losi)
A motor (See above)
Foam tires
Rubber tires
A high speed steering servo
A battery
Pinion gear
A 190mm tc body
Price isnt realy and object, I have a budget of 800 dollars

with that budget you can do exactly what i did with 800, I bought a Team Losi XXX-S, and replaced the brushless novak 4500SS with a Team Losi- sensorless brushless Xcelorin 7500kv which comes with a programmable ESC, With a Venom 5400 11.1v 3S lipo, the RTR XXX-S kit comes with high torque servo, and tires. Not sure if those tires run on all surfaces you plan to run on. The kit comes with a 190mm body, but you can put your own if wanted. This is just my opinion, other will say get a TA tc05 or others but i thought i would give my 2 cents.

RE: jrx-s type r
Thanks for the input, however I am now considering the following:
I will sell my old hpi touring car for 200 and will spend 900 on the car, then:
JRX-S Type R
4600kv Sidewinder Brushless Combo
Trinity "Li-Pro" 2S Li-Po Pack
JR Z8800S Digital Hi-Speed Surface Servo
Spektrum SR3000 DSM 3CH Receiver: Surface (Already have a transmiter)
Protoform MazdaSpeed 6 Touring Body
Robinson Racing 48P Pinion Gear (20T)
Could someone rate this set up and estimate a top speed for me?
