Default Locked Diffs???

I just finished my 4x4 stampede with addition of an independent rear steer.

I am now thinking of switching the frame and suspension to a 4 link.

For crawlers, do you lock both front and rear diffs, or just one? which one?

Thanks,

I have one more question.

Here are the pics of the current stage.

Now that I would incorporate a 4 link suspension. The a-arms will now be fixed, to copy a straight axle. I already thought of different ways to do that.

My question is, will it be better to rotate the axles around to have the steering in front of the diff and the motor behind. (For the front axle) and vise versa for the rear.

I would have the front motor facing towards the rear of the vehicle. The rear motor is your choice really. I've seen Clods set up both ways.

If the front motor were facing the rear you would have a better approach angle.

Wow this'll be interesting.

Its been a very slow build. I only have an hour our less at night, once or twice a week to work on my stuff.
I just thought to update where it is now.

I am torn between the hpi Jeep body or the chrome roll cage. (There are no body posts yet thats why they are sitting low. I will raise it up once I finally made my mind.

Yes, absolutely. When the money is there. This is my budget build. Only used what I have. Mostly made of Traxxas Stampeded parts.

Stampede wheels were narrowed, and tire thread was moded.

I think I might have to switch to narrow A arms (traxxas stampede front A arms).
