Default LiPo charger?

I'm currently flying a HBK2 but I plan on getting a 500 series heli sooner or later and would like a charger then can do LiPos for both. I also want it to do atleast 2 packs at a time. I have been looking at the Hobbico Accucycle Elite. Thoughts? It's at the top of my budget so I don't really want to spend any more then that on a charger.

I'm going to tag along since I am curious as well. I talked to a guy at BP hobbies who said that he had more questions from folks regarding chargers than any other item. They're not standardized within the industry "because the battery technology is changing so fast".... When you are looking at eventually putting $500-1000 of heli in the air, a good charger is part of the investment. But WHICH ONE ?

I'd go with the accu cycle elite. i own one and love it. No matter what RC battery you get it will handle it, you can't go wrong.

Right now I have a Tritton II with the Equinox balancer. It work very well. It is not the best nor the worst. I have (6) lipo packs for my MX450 and HBK2 so I can charge and fly. I just charge at night to fly the next day.

I went crazy looking and said I am done and just grabbed the Tritton II. There is so much out there you head spins. There are more choices for lipo chargers then helicopters.

there's also the polycharge 4... Don't forget to get a balancer or 2. You can always balance the pack after it's charged or during.

I "HIGHLY" recommend Cellpro 4s and 10s chargers. I started with the 4s (will charge up to 4s) model when I only had 3s packs for my mini-Titan. The charger is a fully automatic balance charger and is only $74.99 for the 4s.

I now own a 10s due to running 6s packs in my E550 Raptor.

They are EXCELLENT chargers.

Check them out: http://www.fmadirect.com

If you have several 2-4 cell packs the poly 4 Druss mentioned is great. I have four 3 cell 2200 mah pack for my 450 and four 3 cell 3300 mah packs for my 550. I picked up 4 cheap balancers and i leave them on the four charger leads and charge four packs at a shot. I just hook up four packs set the dials to the correct mah four the battery and press the button. In the time it takes to charge 1 pack I have four ready to go

Yes,

I have (4) 2s packs for the Blade CX-2, (6) 3s packs for the mini-Titan and (3) 6s packs for the E550 Raptor.

I wanted to keep it simple for balancing so I went with the Cellpro chargers instead of buying separate balancers. The Cellpro 10s will charge 2 packs simultaniously so I can charge 4 (3s) packs at a time also.

On another note, I'm looking for a good deep cycle marine or sealed SLA 12v battery for charging in the field. I have 2 nice 85aH ones but they don't take a charge after sitting unused for 2-3 years. They are also almost 8 years old.

Any good suggestions?

Local store has some Schumacher jump starters 12V 500amp. Fairly stout.

I'm not sure of the exact specs of the Schumacher jump starter but it appears that it has a 10Ah or less battery. That will barely charge one of my 25V 5300mAh Li-Po packs. What I'm looking for is a 75-85Ah 12v SLA battery.

I've priced a few and they are all $150.00+ so I'm going to hold off for now.

I didn't get mine for field use, but the Shumacher IPD 1800 is 500 amp, 18 Ah. Fairly strong for a portable jump power station. It was $99. Ha ! You need one of those nice little, quiet Honda Gens.
