Default Prestwich Sigma

A short video of my Prestwich Sigma. Zen 7, Propshop 7016/2.
A fun day at the pond and finally some friends there as well. A new/old boater also joined us with his 10year old boat and Hanson motor, it started on the third pull after 10 years, a good advertisement for gas boating Hopefully he will be a regular at the pond from now on.

Thanks guys.

Finding it is easy!! You just have to move country
It's in the middle of an industrial harbour so we disturb noone. Drag strip to the right. Problem is, it's not so pleasant for camping when we run a race weekend[]
[link=http://www.hitta.se/SearchCombi.aspx?vad=&var=ut%f6gatan+malm%f6]It's here:[/link]

Pipe is a Dave Marles, Prestwich [link=http://www.prestwich.ndirect.co.uk/gaspipes.htm]CS23[/link]

So far she handles well regardless of the water, previous weekend was lumpy and windy and there were no problems at all. In case anyone wishes to comment on the Tx, the aerial is up I have switched to a 3PM FASST, so far a great radio.

FASST 603FS receiver only has one external antenna (one internal) and that is out of the box.

Good video and great lake.
These hulls seem very popular where we have started to go at Trafford Park Manchester.

i have the same stainless pipe ,CS23A,on my Apache /Zen7.It sounds exactly the same as yours, nice quiet growl[8D].
Much nicer than most noisy, tinny sounding exhausts...

Helps keep ponds as well for the those that have noise problems. LOUD does not mean fast...............

Guess the Sigma, Panther and Lynx are all popular as Dave is just around the corner........ he makes a good hull in quality materials.

Hmm - 7016/2 - not convinced with it from experience - but it looks like you are having some success. Is the lift not presenting issues?

Nice to see it was not raining.....

I know you are not convinced Glenn, that's why I have the prop No problems at the moment but I am still testing. I will be doing a back cut when I can pluck up the courage to cut on a stainless prop and maybe round the tips slightly and see what happens. Need to remember to take the gps with me so I can see improvements.
The boat also likes the 7016/3 and a 6518/3.
I have the prop fairly high due to the outdrive I am using, about 16-17mm to centre of propshaft.

SJN, as you are in Copenhagen why not come and join us if you have a boat to play with We get quite a few guys coming round to check out the boats when the drag track is done for the day. Unfortunately we haven't manged to convert any into new boaters yet[]

Bentley, not only time to dust off, time for another new one maybe[X(]

Hello, I have the same boat and i found out that if the CG is moved backwards you gain more speed. Can you tell me what CG do you have on your boat?
Here is a small video.

CG around 34% with fuel when the vid was taken. Since then CG moved forward a little, changed prop to 7015/3 - found more speed and more stability.
I have a MTC drive on the boat so my propshaft centre is a little higher than if built with a strut.
Speed is medium to high 90's (km/h), cornering as if on rails.
Sure you can loosen the boat up and it will go faster in a straight line but that is not what I am interested in.....

I saw the problem w3bby and the cure in made right here in town, it's called Rogaine! [sm=lol.gif] I only kid you because I like you man. I've got a full head of hair but it's going straight from brown to white.

I am achieving the brown to white as well Ron. I like to believe that going from brown to white gives one a "distinguished" appearance. Unfortunately the distinguished look for me is receeding with every passing year or even month......
Best answer is to cut short or shave it all off but I did the 5mm all over years ago whilst travelling. If I had been at passport control I wouldn't have let me in anywhere, looked like the worlds most wanted hooligan

Welcome to the 'real mens' world Ian[8D]

I'm heavily tempted with a Sigma/Zen7 for a new yr. build,my Lynx is taking a battering with all the heavy weather running and all the crashes this yr.My 2yr old Zen7 is starting to show its age too,a bit tired.[]
