Default Can I put a 3.3 in a 2.5 Revo?

If I can what else do I need to make the conversion or is it a drop in replacement? Also have any of you used the Traxxas engine replacement program?

Yes, it is a direct drop in...you shouldn't need anything (other than maybe gearing it up because it's going to wheelie like there's no tomorrow). A friend has a 2.5 chassis that he just put a 3.3 in and he has geared up and put on the extended rear a-arms to help tame the wheelies a little. If your 2.5 is toast might as well send it in with the motor replacement deal...although...I would check ebay first and see what a new 3.3 is going for.

Indeed, like abj alreeady mentioned, it should be a direct drop in other than needing to possibly change the gearing a bit so it dont wheelie soo much, I mean wheelies can indeed be fun, but if it does it too much it might start to get to be a little much after awhile....

Wheat gears would you suggest puting in to cut down on the wheelies? I just bought a 3.3 to replace my dead 18tz. It came with 15/36 gearing on the tz. I am putting the 3.3 in this weekend, and figured I might as well make sure the gearing is good while I have everything apart.

15/38 is the most common gear ratio.

So 15/36 would be more low end?

I think I have the 15/36 i have to put a new spur gear on because my meshing was off and it ate the spur but the 15/36 i seem to get more top speed so it is higher geared

So where is the spur gear located on the engine or is it in the tranny?
