Default My Hummingbird no good...

Well Im getting tired of my Hummingbird, Even a freshly charged pack when I apply full throttle I can see the red light go on on the HB board indicating low voltage, as a result the gyro disengages
and start spinning, if i bring it down below 3/4 throttle the green light goes on again and the gyro starts working and the heli stabilizes but it cant fly it just drops to the ground.
Im using everything that came with it , So I know there is no after-market component failing. I personally thing the HB is not that great a product, I think Im going to get a Picolo pro-basic and install the HB electronics on the new bird.
Any ideas why the board seems to be overloaded? Here is a list of what Im using:
Stock Motor, Hitech feather receiver, HB board, 2 Hitec HS-55 servos and the century gyro. for power i used the stock power pack (i bought 3 of them) waiting for li-polys to arrive.

looking at the instructions have you tried ajusting the pitch of the main rotors should lift off at half throttle also if you have other than the stock charger or know some one who has a good smart charger you might try that

I can't say what the deal is with your board, but do get rid of the stock motor and replace it with a Speed 300 6V. Just doing that alone made my HB fly way better. The stock motor seems to have no real power. Use the pinion off the stock motor. It comes off easy with a little heat. Good luck.

I would bet that the problem is not the HB itself, but just the batterys. From what I have read, the charger that comes with the HB doesn't fully charge the batterys. I already had LiPoly, so I never got any Birdseed packs. With the LiPoly, it really jumps off the ground and just keeps climbing. Another thing to check is the mesh between the motor pinion gear and the main gear. If it is too tight, it may be binding, and causing excessive current drain.

Definately replace the motor before going LI-Ploy's, a gentleman fried his Mixer Board using the stock motor and LI-Polys,How many flights on the stock, some guys are killing those in a week

Default Ummmm

I checked the mesh between the motor and the main gear and it is not tight, I suspect that the stock charger is not doing a good job recharging the batteries, they don't seem to last more then 2 mins at full throttle then they die 3/4 throttle up.
I got a Graupner speed 300 motor today but haven't installed it yet, QUESTION: Do i need to put the caps from the old motor? or should I just leave it with no caps, also tried to get the pinion gear out of the old motor and it seems that it won't come off, should I heat it up?

If there are no caps on the 300 yes you do, to cut RF interferance. not sure on the pinion if LHS has stuff for RS4 Micro cars a motor pinion for one of those should fit

It's taht wall wart charger that is causing your troubles. I had the same problem. I bought a good charger, and wow, what a difference. It only takes 1/2 hour to charge, the battery doesn't get as hot, and I can keep her up for 8 or 9 minutes, all on the birdseed battery packs.
