What are you using to start the 523?
Motor is on the way, I no longer have my original EZ start so what is the best way to fire these things up? Seems like a straight shot to the back of the motor won't work but will have to get it mounted up and see.
I hear the tiger drive is unreliable but that's speculation...any tips appreciated.

I know how they work, but there is no opening in the chassis. I believe you must use some type of starter that engages the rear of the motor.

It's not possile to use a starter box on a T-Maxx. Tiger drive makes a starter that can be pointed to the sides, up or down that will probably work for you (you'll need a cordless drill or a starting wand too)

I would go with an HPI roto-start or another similar style system, I was not a fan of tiger-drive on my maxx, but the HPI rotostart is great, just get the one that you insert the shaft directly behind the motor.

I know RB's can be picky especially when breaking in, if this motor needs a bearing sooner than most then it's still worth it to me IMO..hopefully all is worked out from the first batch. Something about big orange.....hard to go with anything else once you have succumed.

Yeah, those motors have serious compression, just need to run very rich for about a quart. I have a C4 from about 5 years ago and still amazes me, just ordered my first con rod just to play it safe.
