adding an 8 cell to a 7 cell pack ,good or bad ?
When I first purchased my voyager e , I did'nt know you could run the esc with an 8 cell pack so I bought what JR recommended , the 7 cell nicad packs .
Now I'm planning to add an 8th cell to each pack , will this procedure be efficient or will cell memory be playing stupid games on me !!??

Hello!
I had 3 7 cell 1700 pacs that needed upgrading to 8 cells. I just soldered 3 new ones togheter and initialised them on 100mAh for about 14 hours, the topped them with 2A. After that i cycled them, 2A out, 2A in for a couple of times. Then just soldered them into their new homes . has worked exellent now for almost one year!

thanks lusha
Thanks for the input lusha , my charger does not have deep cycling (astroflight 112 deluxe ) but it has a discharge rate of 1.25 a ,so if I try charging and discharging them a t that rate a few times , that should work ?

Ok, then get one extra cell of the same capacity=4 cells and use the RX charger that hopefully came with your radio. I believe you need that 50-100mah initiation charge to get the most out of your expensive cells. You can allways use the 4th cell as a spare!
