Default DA-85 Muffler

I recently purchased a 33% TOC- Extra 260 (95" wingspan) and will be using a DA-85 engine to power it. I prefer to use the Pitts style muffler with this engine and wanted to get some input of mufflers. Has anyone tried out any of the following mufflers: Slimeline, J'Tec Large volume and TBM's Silent muffler?.....TY: Ruben

I'm using the Slimline on my DA-85, turns a 26x10 Xoar at 6900 rpm. Only problem is that the muffler is pretty loud.

I have a new in package slimline I will sell for $135 shipped. I, and three of my friends had cracking issues with jtec. the slimline solved the problem for all of us. If you look at the weld quality, and machined surfaces it is night and day.

I quess the difference between the J-Tec regular Pitts style muffler and the large volume muffler is the size and noise level, according to J-Tec and TBM. Check it out this website:

Another question about the Slimline muffler: Dose it come with the support bracket as the one for the DA-50?
Also: Just wanted to let you guys know that the plane purchased was and exelent deal: TOC 33% Extra 260 (95" wingspan) for $450.00 plus shipping at TBM. I found that special on the Model Aviation Magazine...Can't beat the price for the size and quality........Ruben
