I used a piece of control rod wire through the bottom of the cowl.
Slip a piece of fuel tubing on it to stop it from rattleing around.
Push it in ( choke on ) , pull it out ( choke off ).

RE: DL100 Smoke fitting installation HELP
I have a second DL-100 that I am putting in a Hanger 9 35% Extra 260.
I went with the Slimline smoke mufflers for this plane.
They are heavier then the stock DL muffler ( twice the weight ) but they are a much better muffler and they have a smoke defuser built in.
The stock DL mufflers are really light, but they are also really thin.
I had two mufflers crack apart on my DL-50 and the DL-100 muffler are made the same way.
If the first DL mufflers break, at least I will have a spare set of mufflers from the second engine.

For future reference, gassers do not need an internal smoke coil. You're wasting your money. All you need is the fluid inlet nipple. Bisson and J&A Engineering make mufflers with smoke fittings or the provision for one. Don't know if either makes specifically for DL, but likely they do for DA. Since the DL has the same flange dimensions as a DA, another option would be to use DA mufflers.
