Default TX and RX...can they differ?

I just was wanting to make sure. I could use a Team Asso. transmitter with a traxxas reciever, right?

Some can work with others, some cannot. It depends on the technology used, like whether they both use positive or negitive shift. I don't know enough about the Team Asso. radio to answer your specific question. Best I can say is try them togeather. They'll either work or not - but no harm will come either way.

DaveG hit the nail on the head. Try all channels and see if the results are the same. Nothing harmed, nothing lost. Post the results, curious to find out myself.

please do in fact i will try my hpi radio with traxxas receiver, and my traxxas radio with hpi receiver and let you know as well

My stock rc18t radio worked with my sons mini-t. You can also get rxs that will work with any radio. I just bought a Hitec Synth DX rx (waiting for my 3PKS FASST system to arrive) and it is auto shifting...meaning you can use any FM radio with it.
