Default Flywheel tightness

Because I'm more experienced than I was when I first started driving nitro cars, I no longer have engine problems. But now my flywheel keeps coming loose, causing my car to accelerate on it's own, I tighten the bolt on the shaft with my hex wrench but the vibration causes the bolt to loosen and the engine just quits with the flywheel stopping 2 sec. after. What should I do?

First I'll assume that you are keeping the crankshaft from turning while you are tightning the flywheel nut. If you don't you'll never get the nut fully tight. Other that that, there is a brass collette on the crankshaft on the back side of the flywheel. I'd try replacing that. If that does not help I'd try blue loctite on the flywheel nut

id stay away from the locktight guys use it but replace the collet and get a flywheel tool so you can place it over the pins and crank the nut tight as you can get it without stripping blue locktight gives at around 400 but can start to get viscus in the right conditions at normal temps like 220 with the help of some resadue of nitro blast or fuel . a new collet and clean the flywheel and shaft with brake cleaner and you will be ok .

I keep the crank from turning by holding the flywheel while I turn the bolt. I had two runs this morning and the flywheel seems tight enough. Now it might be either the brakes or clutch that's causing the car to get away from me. I also found out that the throttle servo arm keeps loosening causing the carb to stay open. I'm thinking about going electric, nitro is getting too frustrating.

you want to get it tighter i usto wrap a dish towel around the flywheel tight and grip it but the wrench is 5 bucks and you can get it tighter , and the flywheel wont cause your car to go faster it will stop if the flywheel is loose it will just spin free so check this one off your list
