Thanks! I ordered some prints of my Zero (the smaller one, a yellow kit, it's the one without the chevron stripes on the fuse).
Looks like if you used a digital, it must have been an SLR type to get the decent zoom .. can you tell me what camera/lens combo it was?
Dave

Hi Dave, I use either a Canon D60 or a Canon 10D (Both digital SLR"s) I did use the newer 10D at the Joe Nall event. I just wnt and looked and the two shots of your Zero were with a Sigma 28-300 Zoom. Both shots were at ISO 200, Shutter Speed of 1/350 at f11 with the zoom at 300mm. All but the top end professional SLR's have a lens manification ratio of some sort as the Chip is smaller than a 35mm film frame. The 10D's ratio is 1.6, this is great for this kind of photography as a 300mm lens is actually a 480mm lens when attached to the 10D. Prices for the Digital SLR's have really come down in the past year making them a little more reasonable and the ability to interchange lenses is a big plus! I keep 3 lenses with me at all times. A 15-30mm wide angle zoom, the 28-200mm and a 170-500mm. These 3 lenses give a complete zoom range from 24-800mm effective focal lenths. I can't see that anyone would require more! I hope this answered your question...probably a little too much of an answer! Greg

Thanks, Greg. Great answer ... I have some reasonable analog SLR experience, so I enjoyed the detail.
Now if someone will start addressing the problem of 8 bits/color, we'll really be making progress.
According to some of my colleagues who do high-res imaging, we are already close to the point where the 6 MP cameras have a pixel size that is comparable to the optical distortion of the best fixed lenses (so we're probably already past it on zoom lenses...), but the 256:1 dynamic range is a real issue for lots of the simple digital photography I have done ....
