Default CONTROL ROD HORN PLACEMENT

Does it matter if the horn is placed on the side of the aileron, elevator, or rudder with the V cut for movement space or the flat side of the surface. Does it matter? Thanks Ron

And the holes for the clevis or other attachment should be directly in line with the pivot point of the hinges.

You do want to have a right angle in the rigging however.

If you draw a line (like the yucky purple one in the attached) along the control rod to it's connect point at the horn, and then turn the line at a right angle and draw it to the hinge line, that should make a right angle. Otherwise the surface will move in one direction more than in the other direction.

The upper drawing shows the right angle.
The lower two drawings show properly rigged setups with the horn on the side of the hinge and on the side away from the hinge. Those two will move equally up and down.
