Glider brushless suggestions
Would anyone please give me some reccomendations on a brushless/ Lipo/ ESC setup for the stock Hobbico Upstar? It's very very slow and heavy as is.
Currently it has a 540 size brushed motor, stock ESC, 1800 Mah NIMH battery.

Best thing to do is go up to the little box in the right corner and type in Upstar. Read thru the threads and see what the most popular combo is that the other guys are using.
The previous post that I made was the most common setup after reading through them.
Another set up was the AXI 2812, 30 amp ESC, 1500 tpo 2100 mah li-po, and 10/6 to 11/5 folder. most just used the stock prop.
Thought for sure some of the other guys would join in on this thread that have flown them.

I'll get shot down here but your plane is not a hot liner and never will be. I have the same setup in my Vista EP and just switched to a 2200 20C 3cell Lipo. It's lighter than the NiMh, has more capacity (mA) and is 11.1 volts vs the 9.6 volt NiMh. You'll find this makes your airplane livable. But to tell you the truth the Upstar is not a very good glider. Try the LiPo and then build yourself a new plane this winter.
