Default ford f-350 high lift radio problems

Hello. I have an tamiya ford f-350 high lift. I am having radio problems . The truck runs along fine, then the steering stops working ,I checked the steering linkage to see if it is binding, and it is not, so the the next thing I did was put an brand new servo in it, well that didn't work either. The radio is an futaba skysport 4yf-fm 4 channel on channel 84, 75.870. The radio has full nicads, they are fully charged. I even relocated the receiver to a new location, that didn't help. I then put the steering servo in another channel on the receiver, the same thing , dead servo, any sugestions on what could be going on? Thanks ek4man.

Well the steering servo requires the most current draw of all the other servos, how old are your nicads? I hated having to discharge those nicads after every use 15 years ago, NiMH is the way to go now.
