RE: Who knows where is the Heward Microjets?
I have been trying to contact them since August. I am glad that you have pointed this issue out because I still have not been able to get a reply. But I beleive that his is merging with another company and has moved his workshop from Cambridge to the Isle Of Man. I have not been able to make contact since.

RE: Who knows where is the Heward Microjets?
maybe i can answer this for you.
Phill is currently taking a long earn't holiday for a few weeks.
his company heward microjets has joined with another company to produce more powerful jet engines and he has moved over to north wales for a few months until they find a decent enough factory in the isle of Man where they will be producing something new and exciting.
Phill should have updated his website by now with a new contact number and address but it's still saying the old address of Metheringham in Lincolnshire so i'll remind him by email tonight.
if theres anything i can help with please mail me here:-
[email protected]
please don't ad me to your msn messenger with that address unless you have contacted me by email before hand as it gets a little crazy when about 30 people are trying to chat to you at once about jet engines as is often the case most nights when i log in.
All the best
Paul

Well, you must have the only one. Messing about with turbines which do not do what they are supposed to do may be regarded as fun for a small minority but most of us want to fuel and fly!

well you're wrong, i know quite a few people that are more than happy with their wasps, i also know quite a few people that wouldn't touch jetcats and other makes for the same reason but you never read much about that do you?
i built mine from a kit of parts, yeah i had a few teething problems but there all sorted now, it's got full autostart and works like a dream.
whats happened here is a couple of people have bought kits and not put them together correctly and had problems with them and word has spread and people just jump on the band wagon, a bit like when Jeremy Clarkson said on top gear that the Ford GT was unreliable simply because his was always going wrong
what he (Clarkson) didn't tell you was that he rushed it getting into the country and had them rush the imobiliser which kept cocking up. plus he didn't read the manual.
when i've chatted to uneducated people about the Ford GT their answer came back words to the effect of "i've heard that they're unreliable" simply because they heard someone on the TV state just that.
chinese whispers springs to mind

I am tired of listening to Paul, he lives in fantasyland, what has Jeremy Clarkson's Ford GT got to do with Wasp turbines? I followed the Wasp thread with great interest and was stupid enough to believe all the hype that promised better than Supersport performance at less money and was on the point of buying one until I read the RCJI test (Surprise, surprise) it was not quite what was promised.
I have three Wren turbines which all do what it says on the box or better. I repeat, I am not interested in building turbines or trying to make silk purses out of sow's ears, I would rather devote my scarce and expensive time to building models and flying them.
Please have the last word if it makes you feel vindicated.

RE: Who knows where is the Heward Microjets?
Hi there. Could I ask which large engine you tested? Was it his H65, H80 OR H200 motor? Any feedback would be appreciated as i'm looking for 2 engines of around the 200lbs thrust range. Thanks
PS: to John, that reply is perfectly fine. I just wanted a bit more insight other than just 'yawn'.

Phill is on vacation thru November. Contact [email protected] for info. Those in the UK have great running engines for some reason, those in the US who bought the kits don't. I purchased one from a person here who screwed up the assembly. After re-assembly, runs and runs perfectly. If you can't read and follow instructions, then don't buy a kit no matter what it is! Very, very simple.

Yes, but thousands of Jetcats and hundreds of Artes turbines have been sold. The vast majority are giving reliable service. I have never heard of a Wren throwing blades. How many Wasps have been sold?

this is my point.
don't just single out the wasp as a bad egg when others have their own problems.

Any H20's making 20 pounds of thrust at the advertised RPM for 20 hours trouble free? Heck, 19 pounds of thrust?
