You must also pick up a micro servo for the reverse function. You will also require a 3ch transmitter and receiver.

Yes the Module is ok for a 2 ch transmitter, but the second you change your trim you have to reset it, Its not always a great system and some times you need to reset it more than one time during a run, This can be bothersome....

Hello Rob. I was surfing looking for options to convert the Slayer to Reverse and I found you in more than one search engine... I hope you can help me: Do you know if the conversion kit from Traxxas for the Revo 5395X has the neccesary parts for making the conversion you did? I cannot find anywhere the detailed parts list of this item, so you may know. I am not interested in installing the Optidreive system, I just want the mechanical switch to reverse. Thank you!

Mutt, you did jack his thread. Just stick with the stock plug. If it keeps going out, then your engine is out of tune.

I checked on the same thing and i think you coud get on ebay and find a revo transmission with optidrive and also find and optidrive unit. I looked at the exploded view on traxxas for the revo and the slayer and the transmission cases are the same number so the optidrive tranny would fit. Ordering the whole tranny would save you the time of tearing down and might be a little cheaper than ordering all the parts to fit yours. Your also gonna need a 3 channel transmitter ought to be able to find a traxxas one on ebay if thats what your using and your traxxas receiver in your slayer would work it is allready a 3 channel just put your transmitter crystal in the one you get. Heres a list of what you would need
Transmission Ebay $45-$65
Optidrive unit Ebay $10
Radio Ebay $30 or if you want 2.4ghz ive seen them for $120
servo box #5325 Tower $5.49
clip #3935 Tower $2.89
micro servo #2060 Tower $25.29
shift linkage #5392 Tower $3.39
screws #2575 Tower $2.39
