RC Boca Hobbies Burglary - REWARD
A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a man who burglarized [link=http://www.rcboca.com]RC Boca Hobbies[/link] early Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008. Items taken were several trucks including a Revo Platinum, Losi 8ight-T, Jato 3.3, T-Maxx 3.3, and an E-Maxx. The burglar's vehicle was a stolen truck. Video and screen caps are here:

Yeah. Tough part is that its likely their merchandise is brand new and therefore hard to identify on ebay or craigslist. Hopped up and customized cars and trucks are easy to spot but NIB merchandise is next to impossible to identify.
Hopefully the police will be able to identify a suspect from the video and photographic evidence.

I would have gone for the kits.[&:] just kidding
Our local hobby shop has been broken into a few times. Once during the day; the owner chased the guy out and punched through the passenger window of his truck with his fist. Our shop has windows like that, but is also reinforced with bars. After that the burglars broke through the shop next to it, and next through the wall to get into the hobby shop. More cameras were added after that. It sucks to have things stolen.

It's sad to see small businesses get robbed, but I fear we're going to see more and more of it as more people are in dire economic positions.

technically they weren't new in box as they were not in boxes
the dude is most likely to come back again either to steal or buy parts / fuel that is if he lives in the area and if he is not selling them on ebay / craigs

you haven't seen this guy coming to the store before....during daytime?
from that video it looks like he knew what he was looking for. in & out []
how about videos from another store or yours during daytime?
I'm sure he's been there before checking things out!
theres a business logo on the door and a "154" number on the tailgate, under the ford logo.
electric company? cable tv? pest control? etc..... hmmm!
look for the truck first.
One thing, to all business ownwers.....get better and more than one camera.

Thanks for the feedback so far. The truck he was driving was stolen (big surprise) and he wore gloves so there are no fingerprints. We are still reviewing the security footage from previous days to see if he was in the store recently. Hopefully all the publicity this is getting locally will help catch him.
We'll be watching eBay and Craigslist as well as all the local places he could sell the trucks.

while criminals are not the brightest people, i highly doubt he'd go back into that store legally.

I hate a thief and think when they catch one they should do like they do is some other countries and cut there hand off. My house was broke into about 10 years ago to the tune of over $10,000![:@] I hope they catch him and burn his butt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
