Default Color coding servo to receiver leads

I don't know if there is an already established "standard"..but.....after having to trace the wires back a couple of times, I finally coded all of my leads as follows

RED = Rudder (Red/Rudder..simple to remember)

YELLOW = Elevator (YELL sounds similar to ELevator..simple to remember)

BLUE = Ailerons (Blue reminds me of the AIR or SKY ..somewhat simple to remember)

GREEN = Motor/power lead (Green means GO! )

regards, Rich

How did you actually accomplish this?

Put a dab of the same colored paint on the proper receiver slot, also.

I bought a package of colored tape. It comes in five colors I think. I wrapped a small piece of the correct color tape around each servo lead. Paint or anything that will stick will work also, of course, The idea is to have a system and stick to it. I've switched too many wires by mistake already..... in my first year in this great hobby. regards, Rich

hi there from Toledo

why not use the electronic color std but adapted to channel numbers?

ch. 0=black, rcvr binding, freq search, battery connection, or some such.
ch. 1=brown
ch. 2=red
ch. 3=orange
ch. 4=yellow
ch. 5=green
ch. 6=blue
ch. 7=violet
ch. 8=gray
ch. 9=white
more?
ch. 10=brown/black
ch. 11=brown/brown
ch. 12=brown/red
and so forth.

Thanks for the memory jogger, I used that system.... a mere 48 years ago! I was only suggesting a simple method that was easy to remember..Hope a few people put it to use, if they don't have an established and easy to remember system already at work ...regards, and thanks for the idea. Rich
