That depends on personal preference. better for what????? The reason I have both on road and off road is because I like them both equally.

Exactly what Nitroman said.
My off-road is better for off-road and my on-road is better for on-road. I personally like the off-road better because you can use it both on or off road.

Most people will eventually have more than one r/c vehicle in their garage. If you buy a buggy/truck and run it on pavement some of the time, you'll start looking to get an on-road car. If you buy an on-road and have access to dirt, you will long for an off-roader to run there.

its depends.. I actually have my Landmax 2 it sees mostly on road parking lot duty. then I have my Novak Bl TC3 sees racing duty and some parking lot fun. Next my E pede for quiet off road running and lastly my .21 maxx for the extreme off roading. I have just about all bases covered with my RC's and I can't say any one is better than another. as was said it really depends on what you are looking to do.

I have had both, but currently only have an off road (Savage). I bought an on-road because i though speed would be fun, but after about half a gallon I was already bored. Zoom to one end of the parking lot, come back, turn around, and go again. Maybe if I raced it would have been more fun, but there wasn't a track near me. Off road is in my opinion WAY more fun. I can drive my savage just about anywhere. Jumping and climbing is way more fun than driving around an empty parking lot. But I can still do that with my Savage if i want too. And i dont have to be as careful with my savage than I did with my on-road (it was a Yokomo GT-4, dont get me wronge that is a hella fast and well built car). I can bash and if i hit something, i usually dont even break anything. With an onroad car you gotta be careful not to hit anything because it can do a LOT of damage. I was lucky to never crash too hard. Anyways, I sold my GT-4 and now i only have the savage, and i think off-road is the best.

I have had everything from high end on road Serpents to top of the line 5th scale FG with 23CC engines and disk brakes.....I think 1/8th scale 4X4 .21 buggys are by long and far the most fun, even more so than the MT'S at least for me!
Heres the stable past and present:
Serpent Impact Challenger 2
FG Competition w/ full disk brakes and G230 Zenoah engine
1/8 Mugen MBX-XR Works W/ .21 OS RZVO1B
1/8 Tamiya TGR W/ 2003 Fantom FR.15
Losi Matt Francis stadium truck with Novac GT7
Traxxas 2.5 TMAXX with 600$ in racers edge aluminum upgrades

I have the following:
2 TMaxx 2.5's
1 on road Nitro TC3
1 OFNA Hyper 7 PBS
2 Traxxas bandits that I have extremely modified
Love on and off road - onroad are those who want extreme speed. Off road is for serious bashing and jumping.
