Do any of you A-10 owners want/ need protective bags
My Mibo ( Not fei Bao ) A-10 is nearly finished and was thinking about getting some custom bags made by Pull over products in Germany. I just wondered if any of you others wanted any sets making and if there is any point in getting a batch made.

I wonder if "bags" in the typical sense will work. Considering the added depth of the pylons/armament and especially the plastic stabilizers on the bottom of the pylons(easy to break off), I forsee problems. Be interesting to see what you can come up with.
I would think you'd have to take all the armament off first[sm=72_72.gif]

Hey David
I was thinking of a bag that would cover the wing with the pylons in place. So all you needed to do at the filed as attach the ordinance. Do you think that would work out? Or are most people transporting the wings with all stores attached?
Cost... I will be in touch about that when I know more
Scott..... Trust you!

I transport my wings with all the ordinance attached. It would be possible to remove it but I'd rather leave it on.
Plus David has a good point. Those little plastic parts (ordinance stabilizers) would and do break easily. I would think those would be gone in short time.

Thanks Billy. just the response I was looking for. Although I will let you be the one to tell Joey C that you are the reason he is not getting a set of wing bags to protect his new toy
Do you have a rack or stand or anything such to carry your hog wings around in? or just lay them flat somewhere?
I am having cold sweats remembering the days of my tams F-18 with all the stores, and having to spend the first 20 mins of every session gluing fins back on after the journey

Would work fine for the tail feathers remembering that the G1 & G2 are two piece elevators/horizontal whereas the G3 & G4 are one piece elevator/horizontal.
Wing bags would also be fine for those that did not choose to attach the pylons, etc.

Billy has a gigamonstrous rolling rack that looks to be built by the infamous "Joe the plumber".
It help to have his humongous trailer to roll it in and out of also. The trailer also makes a nice stage for showing HD movies also

Ali,
Maybe a set of wing "covers" might be a better idea. The covers would simply protect the top surfac,e with elastic bands that strap around and underneath the wing, between the pylons, to hold the covers in place. That way the wings could be transported laying flat on the wing tops with ordinance still on.

I transport the wings in my trailer on a flat shelf that is padded with foam. I always lay the wings upside down so as to not break off the plastic supports.
I would be a good idea to make a bag that "straps" on to protect the top side of the wing.

With or without ordnance I've found the best way to transport the wings is upside down on a protected surface with the gear pod and pylons sticking up. Easy enough to strap or velcro them down inbetween the plyons. I strap (bungee) my fuselage onto a 2X4 cradle padded with carpet pieces. After I slide it onto one of my trailer shelves I hold it in place with a few screws. Always better to have a helper but I can do it myself if necessary.
Ali, one nice thing about the MIBO A-10 ordnance is that all the supplied pieces have two protruding rods that slide up into the plyons. Just a couple of turns with some 2/56 bolts holds them in place. I can put mine on or off in about 5 minutes.

Just a little FYI. The ordinance is also good for protecting the wing/ gear pod in the event of a main not retracting. I just learned that not to long ago. just scrapped the bottom of the rocket launcher

I stopped by a couple of my local wholesale furniture stores and scarfed some furniture covering that they throw away. It is padded plastic and very tough. I cut it to size and made bags for the wings of my MIBO. Taped it together with Gorilla duct tape. the wings slide in and out of one end. Same with the tail. Now, it's not fancy and store bought for five hundred bucks, but it works just as well if not better, and it was free!
