Default Best Small Gasser?

Hey Guys,
As I mentioned in another post in this same forum, I am thinking about trying to put together a relatively small "artistic aerobatics"/pattern/3d plane with a gas engine. I am looking at planes in the 60 to 90, and maybe 120 size. I know of the BME 90 but I may have to make the plane smaller than I would really like in order to keep the power to weight ratio where I want it. What are the best small gassers out there when it comes to power/weight ratio, reliability and performance? I looked up the RCS 140 and found that it apparently has been discontinued, and have had a hard time finding info on the mvvs gassers, have they gone away too? I'm looking at anything up to roughly 26cc's.. any suggestions?

Thanks,
Todd

golfingguy27,

Most of the 26cc engines coming out of China are lightweight but to say which one is the best will probably raise a few eye brows. There are a host of engines to choose from with a lot of different prices. It just takes a little research on what brand you want and what price. Saito has come out with the new FG20 4-Stroke Gas Engine that is 20.52cc but it also comes with a high price tag. CRRC seams to be pretty popular. You could look at the SV, Cermark SPE, EVO, Zenoah, RCGF, etc.

My suggestion is a G20 Zenoah ....search for the Tony Clark website and see a airplane hand launched strait up. The airplane could even hover with the G20, which is a high quality engine. Best Regards, Capt,n

The best small gasser is a 110 c.i. Offenhauser four.

I may suggest Evolution engines 26cc Evo26 GT which is a very strong engine, usually stronger than most 26cc chinese engines on the market. Its the same engine as the MVVS 26cc Gasser. (actually MVVS makes the Evo 26GT)
With a tuned pipe - they have unbelievable, unmatched performance and throttle response.
