Help with BVM 60" Sabre repair
Hi,
I dorked a landing on sat and broke this retrac mount. I have been scratching my head as to which way to get the mount out?? It looks like the wing has to be cut open?? the mount appears to be attached to the wing slides ?? ugh [:@]
Thanks,
Vin...

RE: Help with BVM 60" Sabre repair
Hi Vin
Hal Peters here. I thought there was an aluminum backup plate ca'd to the bottom of the mount. if not if you can find some 1/8" aluminum to make a u shape to fit under it and then tap it for the mounting screws.
If not 1/4" ply should do. Glue the bottom and tap the ply and ca holes and retap. Also practice landing slower.
Regards, Hal

Vin, I think I have one of the retract mounting plates for the AFS wing if you need one. I don't need it anymore.
If I remember correctly it is neccessary to cut the wing for access and then the retract mounting plates are just screwed in place. It's been a few years since I rebuilt the wing on mine but that is what I remember...Gary
