Default Snake eye fins

Several years ago someone made some snake eye fins for a 500# low drag bomb that was drooped by (I think) Joe Grice's F-100 during Top Gun.
I was wondering if anyone knows the manufacturer or any contact info.
Thanks,
Jon

Jon,
I am not aware of which ones you are talking about, however if it were me, I would start with Dan Gill first. Dan is the man when it comes to developing miniature armament that really looks the part. He probably can help you out with what you are looking for. Good luck.

Actually I have a set of those for Joe C's F-100. They were made by Mark Taylor. The set I have (which I really need to get to Joe...) has a broken fin and I've been having some trouble getting in touch with Mark to ask about a replacement...

Guys,

The Mk 82 Snakeye bombs are on my list of things to do. Now, can someone make another 12 hrs in the day so I can get to them?...LOL...

Snake eye fins that popped open like the real ones? Cool. Wonder how that mechanism works for r/c bombs.

I had the same problem as you Dan, no time. I wanted to make some functional ones back in the day, oh well, maybe I will get to it some day.

The work excellent. The pylon holds them closed and the spring and aero forces open the fins....we were afraid of hitting the horizontal stabs on out F-100's....but nothing ever happened they were developed so we could get an easy 10 score at Top Gun.

How durable are the fins Justin? I can see some serious impacts of the fins first when they hit the ground and possibly breaking them each time.

Thanks Justin, I sent you a PM.

Looking at your picture above, the ones I have I think are a bit different, both the shape of the bomb and the fins are different, I think. Were there two versions that you made?

Bob
