Default E-maxx Battery help!

I just bought an E-maxx and I'm using two 8.4v 4500mah. I like the power I'm getting with 8.4v but would like some more run time. Would I see similar power from a lipo 7.4v 8000mah?

you should see better power from the lipos & everyone will say better runtime but Im not sure of the runtimes compared to nimh packs..Lipos dont taper off as quickly as nimh packs so they might just last longer..

I kind of thought that. What I dont get is why would a 7.4v lipo give more power then a 8.4v nimh?
Would this setup hurt my stock E-maxx.
