Default Are Tamiya Tiger I and King Tiger DMD units interchangeable?

Are the Tamiya Tiger I (kit# 56010) and King Tiger (kit# 56018) DMD T-03 and MF-01 units interchangeable between the two tanks? Are these the SAME units? All of the sound effects sure sound identical to me when I heard these two tanks run.

Also is there a difference in the DMD units between the King Tiger kits #56017 and #56018?

Thanks for any input on this.

Both the Tamiya Tiger IE #56010 and King Tiger #56018 kits use the same T-03 and MF-01 DMD Units and the sounds are the same.

The RC King Tiger - Full Option Kit Item #56018 is the most current King Tiger release and I do not know what kit #56017 is, do you mean #56007?

If yes, the older Porsche Turret King Tiger #56007 uses a DMD Control Unit T-01 that is NOT compatible with the newer DMD T-03 and MF-01 units. That kit does not include sound or many of the other F/O options including turret rotation etc..

Thanks for the response.

I was NOT referring to #56007. There apparently was a Tamiya King Tiger #56017 (which there mysteriously is no information about on Tamiya's website, even under discontinued kits). I have found websites that still have a listing for a King Tiger #56017 full option kit with a price typically of $850 US. So I was also wanting to know if its DMD units were the same items as the ones included in the #56018 kits. The tank photo shown by these #56017 kits is identical to the photo typically displayed for the #56018 kits.

Hi, The 56017 is the 56018 plus the required radio system and is exclusive to the Japanese market. Those who have built Tamiya tanks with even-number designations should have noted the large void in the packaging which accommodates the transmitter/receiver that comes with odd-numbered releases.

Phasor,

According to what you say then, all the components should be identical except for the addition of the radio gear. Thanks for clarifying what the 56017 is.

RSEA, That's correct. Re your initial query, the 56010 and 56018 have the same DMD and MFU.
