Default Anyone running TEU-101BK on DX3R or DX3S and SR3300T or SR300

Guys i need some help finding out what the proble is....

I managed to fry my Sr3300T trying to sort out a glitch im having with my DX3S using either the SR3300T or SR300 receivers on my TT-01 using a Tamiya TEU-101BK ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROLLER (stock) and any type servo on the steering. Bascally if i blat the throttle from 0-100% the steering servo will glitch. Ive tried different servos futaba 3003 and hobao 3 and hitec 65mg and have the same with all 3 servos. I also at first thought maybe it was the SR3300T so tried with the Sr300 and had the same problems. I then removed the RX out of the car and move to the furthest point away from any electronics to see if it was dirty interfence but still the same. However if i run a RX battery pack it goes away so i know its between the ESC's bec or the fact the spektrum receiver doesnt like this particular ESC? any ideas or anyone have the same issues or if you have a similar setup WITHOUT glitches let me know.

To test you need the motor to be still then blat the throttle. keep doing it but wait for the motor to go stationary before the next blat because it only seems to do it then. i.e if you have the motor running even very slowly and blat it doesnt seem to effect it. Problem is it tends to give a huge torque steer type syndrom and is really getting on my nerves.

Best to raise car off the ground with body shell removed and watch the steering assembly when trying it.

It does sound like the esc. I use a teu 101bk with my SR3000 receiver on a tt-01 with my dx3r and haven't seen that same problem but that esc isn't the best.

Try a different esc from your hobby shop but make sure you can return it. I suggest the Tazer 15t.

i would be very grateful if when you have 5 mins testing to see you 100% do not have this issue. try with it on your lap to see any small movement on the steering linkage.

Many thanks i just blew my receiver and hav just ordered another £50 and really didnt want to go trying ESC's case i get the same problem and waste more money...

DO NOT go plugging a 2s lipo direct into the RX lol... expensive lesson learnt. i dont know if it was the voltage or if i accidentally plugged in up in reverse polarity as its only a 2 pin plug i just tugged it out as quick as i could. Going to bed with a headache now

If you are using a Tamiya TEU-101BK with a DX3S it's posible you fried the esc. there's a faster current passing through that receiver than average radio system for responces time, also check your antenna cable

Ive not Fried the ESC it still functions correctly but ofcourse could be the the fault also. The RX is deffo fried.

Aerial was well paced and vertical-ish away from the chassis and any electronics or metal parts etc.

Its either a problem with my ESC pumping irregular voltage spikes when under extreme load or a problem with the 2 Spektrum RX's not liking the ESC??? for now i can run an external RX batt pack but the weight of AA's is going to p155 me off... Im sitting here wondering why on earth i spent the best part of £200 upgrading my radio equipmwnt to have more glitches than i did running 40mhz .

i need to borrow my mates ESC at some point and see if i have the same issues. He also has the same ESC so will determine faulty ESC. If not then i need to purchase/borrow a different type ESC and see what happens there. FFS i just want to go out and drive............................................. ....

i have the same setup, and i have not seen any issues at all, but i would definatly try a different esc just to rule out if there is a problem with yours

It has nothing to do with the Rx/ESC interference. The TEU-101BK does not have a BEC. This means full voltage of the battery is going to your rx and servo. Your RX is rated for it so that's not an issue. (Should be 9.6v for SR3300T) However most servos are rated for 6v so at full throttle where voltage at it's highest your servo starts to act up. Buy a cheap BEC and you're set.

Are you sure the Tamiya has NO bec??? i always thought they did. This doesnt explain when i run a regular 40mhz RX setup i have NO issues.

Anyways ive orded a ubec and will see what happens. On a side note i run my mates TT 01 on my RX/TX and didnt have any issues even with the same servo, however his pack was very low so not conclusive as this could be exactly the reason you mentioned.

Take a look on your ESC manual. It lists the output voltage right there. There is no point for them to do the TEU-101BK with a BEC because they assume a cheap AM rx will be used. Most of those have BEC built into the receiver.

Hmmn you could be right i wondered why my RX had no bec port and used the AUX instead... im going to put a meter and check the ESC plug to see what voltage i get down it.

You are 100% correct. Stuck a meter on last night and got way over 7v ops: my bad....

Hopefully the ubec will turn up today but after seeing that last night im 99.9% sure it will solve the problem. I wondered where to plug the power lead from the ESC from as previously i have always plugged up to a port marked bec.... i never realised they had a bec in the RX and pressumed they where just marked up so you know where to plug it up to. Seeing the power lead from the ESC i pressumed it had bec inbuilt .

Thanks very much for the information it was starting to really bug me.

No problem. Glad everything worked out for you. It's an odd ball in any case. The only modern car ESC I can think of that that have no BEC.

Yeah that and the Spektrum being 1 of the very few RX's that doesnt have a BEC. All the same i FULLY tested it this weekend and can 100% confirm all is good. Very happy. Thanks for the info.
