Having that slipper nut too loose can cause it not to shift due to slippage as can having the mesh too tight. Did you replace with the smae gear ration, like a 47T replacing a 47T. If you went larger, like 47T to 49T, you may not be spinning the transmission fast enough to shift at the old setting. The shift is primarily a RPM induced operation, a weight spinning inside over powers a spring and the next gear is engaged. Glen
