FOX 2.4 trouble

Default FOX 2.4 trouble

Hello all any one have one these engines. What size prop are this engines swing at what rpms. I called fox today and they told me that it should swing a 20/8 about 6800. im am swing a apc 20/8 at 7600. Im a little worried it going to come. But if i richen it up it gets real bubble.

I am not sure if their engines are tested by FOX with an APC prop or not but ... an APC prop will put less load on the engine than any other prop of the same size ie: higher than expected RPM reading . The engine should be fine at the RPM's you posted < however if you want to slow the engine down try the 20x10 and or try a different brand prop. I personaly prefer NX or 3W brand props for sport or airobatic flying.

the only reason i dont go with a 20/10 is the speed. i am looking for power.

Then try a 21/8 or 22/8

We used to turn our 2.4 in the 8500 rpm range. Ain't wore one out yet. For noise we now running in the 6800-7200 range.

You'll have to go higher in rpm than TKG's 8,500 before it elects to give up. A lot higher.
