Default RE: engine question?

The RR is not that much better than the spec1. It has higher rpm's but not that much more power. I think the F4.6 woudl run right with it. Its way over priced. There are batter engines for cheaper. A friend of mine has one in his MGT adn it does pretty good but its no LRP.

Default RE: engine question?

I have two of them in this Savage:
http://www.rcuvideos.com/video/Twin-Savage-1
I didnt run them at their full potential, lest I flip the truck over. Also, the carbs were sticking since this is the first time I fired it up for several months.

They are okay engines, but their timing profiles are very similar to the K4.6 and the Axial Spec 1S.

As a matter of fact, the crank induction timing duration is EXACTLY the same as the K4.6 (195 degrees).
And yes, they do not perform any better than the other Kingstar/Nitrostar engines. They are okay for upgrading like the S25 of the old non-X Savage, but as for all the nice race-grade goodies like domed piston, turbo scallops on the crank, etc, they are wasted because this engine does not have the timing profile to put those goodies to use.
