Looking for a GAS radial engine under 9in dia
I'm trying to find out if there is a GAS radial I can use in a 1/5 SisT FW 190 A kit. I want to run gas so I can protect the paint job I have planned for my kit from nitro fuel.
Is there a conversion to run gas in a nitro radial from Saito or ASP or OS?
The RCS/Moki 150 engine is just a bit too big unfortunately based on the posted dimensions I have read. The Saito might also be too big in dia. The ASP seems to work but again its nitro.
If there is a conversion I would consider it. I know the latest 4S engines are getting converted to gas but a radial might be too far out there for now.
Any ideas are welcome,
Chris

Your right and I have considered it along with a sound kit but the flight times are not what I'm looking for in that case. I want to fly longer than 8 minutes or so. My friend has done an electric conversion to his KMP FW 190 and he gets short flights and thats with ample size batteries and the bigger 53xx Axi motor. The SisT FW190A is bigger and heavier so I really just dont want to deal with all that right now. I have an electric converted KMP ME 109E too so I know what you mean first hand as well.
Its an option but the last one right now.
Its looking like a Zenoha 46 is in the running here. I really would like the radial to top off such an awesome plane...and the sound!

Wow the Technopower engines are awesome but....glow. Im asking them about gas but I'm not holding my breath. The 9cylinder 5th scale engine is the right size too...hmmm
The other is the Moki engine and the diameter is too big...10in.
Thanks for the links...any more ideas?

I would be tempted to call these folks about an ignition conversion. I'm not certain they can help and you may end up with an alcohol ignition engine (not gas) but, they have been around quite a while and have a very good reputation. http://www.ch-ignitions.com/

Any chance of redoing the cowl and making it an inch bigger? I can't remember if the FW's cowl sits flush on the fuse or there's a gap to let air out. I'd do what it takes to get the RCS 150 to fit. Nothing beats them engines for sound. At a high idle, they sound like a cammed up Chevy.
