Default A few questions

I'll start with these:

any use for them anymore? I have gotten one with every 'lot' I have purchased. I had more, gave a couple to my brother.
I wonder if they could be used for power supply purposes? or maybe just scrap metal at this point.

Wow , I haven`t seen them in ages . Well , have the Pro tech burried somewhere in the basement . Can`t charge today`s batteries with them and I`d keep them just because they are vintage .

Timed chargers are a hazard, especially old ones.... The timers can stick, and they have no safety devices, if a timer stick and you arnet watching, the battery goes boom... guess How I know.... Throw them away. A $20 peak charger is 100 times better...

don't get me wrong here, I do not use these for my batteries, I am wondering if the guts of them have any OTHER purpose.

next question: I see a lot of guys note that they check the speed of their rcs with a gps. Which ones are good for this? I had a cheapo tomtom for a while but it did not have a top speed memory setting that I could find.
thanks

for what you would pay for one you could get a DX3S radio, which will show you your speed and top speed, plus your RX pack voltage, and engine or motor temp. Unless you plan to use the GPS for other things, get the radio, otherwise, some gps units offer top speed memory and some dont... you first need to figure out what type of unit you want (handheld, car, etc)

How does the radio tell what speed you are going. I looked at a couple sites and they don't really talk about that.
as far as gps goes, I just wondered what a couple examples of ones that have the top speed memory feature were. I'll watch for them to show up on ebay or craigslist.
