Best Radio setup under $150?
What is the best radio setup under $150? I am trying to decide on a new radio, just need a little help. Are used radios normally junk or are they good as well?

Ive been buying used radios. No problems!!! Save your money and look for a good used radio. I don't buy new anymore when you can find newer used cheaper.

If you are just starting out, go 2.4Ghz. Not becuase its any better than 75Mhz, but for the peice of mind of knowing that no one can turn on their TX and cause you to crash, and you cant accidentaly do it to someone else, and metal touching metal isnt going to cause a glitch that turns you head on into a pole/tree/fence/etc...
I had a Futaba 3PM fasst and it was awesome. Sold it on ebay for about $150. I currently have a Spectrum DX3S, and its equally awesome. (it came with my losi XXL) I had heard bad things about spektrum range, but haven't had a problem.

I have definitely considered the 2.4's, I'll look into good used radios. Can I set up the 2.4 for multiple vehicles, if I purchase multiple receivers, or is it mated to a single receiver?

You can get multiple receivers. If that's your plan, then spektrum is definitely the way to go. You can get receivers off eBay for $34-$40, because losi RTR 2.4ghz vehicles come with spektrum receivers (they say losi, but its spektrum tech and they will bind to spektrum tx's). Futabas 2.4ghz receivers are $90-$100.
Spektrum also has "modelmatch" which prevents you from driving one vehicle while you have the wrong one selected in the transmitter.

I have for sale a Spektrum DX2.0 and also comes with a sr 3001 receiver. Asking around $130. I've owned it less then a year. I just bought a LST XXL with the DX3S radio and don't need the DX2.0. Any takers messege me. But I think Spektrum is the way to go.

All I have a need for is a 2-channel radio, but it looks like future vehicles may require more channels. Thanks for the info about Losi receivers, I was unaware of this. I will post some radios I believe to be good deals and get some input from ya'll.
Thanks
