Default Replacing motor brushes

How often should this be done?
I've never replace motor brushes before. My motor (Tamiya Super Stock S) has about 20+ 2000mah batteries through it. It seems to be ok

i'm not a brushed motor expert, but the brushes need to be changed when you see a noticeable decrease in performance. Ideally you'd need to get the comm cut as well when you put on the new brushes.

The only time I have had to replace brushes is after the motor stops running. That will happen when the brushes go away hopefully they are burning off evenly and you can just change them both at the same time.
