Free Spektrum Temp Sensor with VPX a123
i didn't find anything about this via google so i figured i would share here with you guys & gals!
did you know that $10 of the vpx battery pack goes toward the little temperature sensor included to monitor cell temps? ha! yea right! horizon wants [link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=SPM1451]$10 a pop[/link] for a $0.25 thermistor. robbery!
in addition to the 2 a123 1100mah cells contained within a black & decker vpx battery pack, you also get another little added bonus! the temp probe used to monitor cell temp during charging (maybe during discharge, idk) also happens to work great with spektrum telemetry systems! i've seen numerous threads that mention tossing the probe, but none that mention saving it. so if its not too late, hang on to those probes guys & gals! when the time comes that you need a replacement temp sensor, you get to stick it to man! (lol!) party probe!
temp was off by 1° tops (house thermostat was at 72°, desk lamp was close enough to add a few degrees). this is typical even with the spektrum sensors.

sweet... have a vpx ill be tearing apart and a dx3s.... ill be saving the probe now... (btw, its purpose is to tell the charger not to charge the battery if its hot... it wont start charging till the battery cools)
