POOF! did i blow my ESC/motor? oops please help!

Default POOF! did i blow my ESC/motor? oops please help!

so i accidently plugged in my battery directly to my ESC output (to the motor) rather than the input. did i ruin my ESC and/or motor?
thanks so much in advance.

i have a tamiya TT-01:
superstock RZ 23T
associated A.I. quantum runner reverse ESC
intellect 4600 battery pack
deans plugs all around

i just plugged everything back in, and the ESC works BUT, it is smoking like crazy! smells like burnt matches.

If you solder things properly, you shouldn't be able to plug the battery into the output of the ESC..

Anything that has current coming out should have female plug (i.e., the battery, the ESC output to motor)

This is to prevent things from accidently shorting the circuit if you have exposing male plugs..

Good luck! Hope it is not damaged.. but if there's smoke, it is probably not good news..
